SCORING SYSTEM - "Every Second Counts". All three events are timed. The times from each event will be added together. The athlete with the lowest combined time wins. In the case of a tie, the athlete who has won 2 of the 3 events will be the winner. Times to 1/10 of a second will be kept and will be counted. The team that has the fastest combined time of their top 4 athletes (men and/or women) will be deemed the Team Champion.
SCALING - No scaling will be allowed. If you cannot move the prescribed weight, you will not be able to participate. We have intentionally chosen workouts that have some flexibility around this issue.
EVENT ORDER:
1. 5000/7000
2. 4 CORNERS
3. TRAIL RUN
WINNERS - will receive a plaque "Maine's Fittest Man 2009" and "Maine's Fittest Woman - 2009". There are no age categories intentionally. Any organization that has four or more athletes entered will be eligible for the fittest team award.

SEEDING:
We will run the competition in heats based on the final number of athletes participating.
Seeding for heats in Event 1 and 2 will be set up in reverse sign up order. In other words, if we determine we need heats of 6 and we have 30 entrants. The first 6 people to register and pay will be in Heat 5, the second group of 6 to register and pay will be in Heat 4, etc.
Seeding for Event 3. the trail run, will go in reverse order of the standings after the first two events. Following the example above with 6 person heats, the top 6 competitors would go in the final heat of the day. Based on the number of judges we have available, we may make the Trail Run heats larger.
JUDGING
Each athlete will have a judge assigned to him or her for each event. That judge will be responsible for enforcing movement standards and assuring that each repetition is completed. They will also count reps aloud for the athlete. If a rep is not performed according to the standard the Judge will call FOUL and explain why they called foul.
THERE IS A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY FOR ARGUING WITH YOUR JUDGE.
The judges are volunteers and are doing this to support the sport of fitness. They will be trained in the movement standards. It is your responsibility to meet with your judge prior to your heat and do a "test rep" or two to be sure you are both on the same page. We all know that as you get tired, your ability to meet the range of motion degrades. These are competition reps and EVERY one of them must be complete. Close will not cut it; the judges will be unwavering in enforcing the standards. If you miss a rep, simply be sure you understand why and do it again.
ARGUING WITH THE JUDGES WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION
If you are interested in Judging at the games or know of someone who is, please contact Bill Getty asap. Level 1 CrossFit Certification is preferred but now required.
What if you have a disagreement with a judge, then? I mean, what if they're wrong? Judges are wrong sometimes...is there someone we can take it up with after the fact?
