Photos from Event 1 - Men
Tyler Quirion won the 7000# overhead event by beating back a fierce challenge from Mike Miner. Mike was only 4 seconds behind and vows to continue to work hard in his quest to compete at next year's Northeast Regional Qualifier for the 2010 CrossFit Games.
Mike Miner (orange shirt in back) gets one of his 74 reps of ground to overhead in with 95#. Sarah Firth and Nate Paradis are judging Mike, Bodhi Littlefield looks on and Chris Poirer works his way to a strong finish in the foreground.

Congrats to Karen Wickman (left) for winning this event by 4 seconds over Jess Trundy (right). Karen lifted 65# 77 times in 6:44. Jess went with the lighter weight 55# for 91 reps and finished in 6:48.

A good time was had by all!
Josh Hall (far right) is fast out of the gate and led after two laps with the sandbag.
The women's 4 corner drill was a real "grinder". Kendra Littlefield (far right) competed for Team "Fear this" and took the event with a strong and solid performance.

We'll have more pictures and video up in the coming days but here are two from the competition's winner
Jess Trundy gets in a pullup in the 21-15-9 workout on her way to winning Maine's Fittest Women title. Jess was second in this event which was won by Kendra Littlefield with a time of 13:07.
Tyler Quirion gets in one of 74 reps with 95# in the 7000# overhead first event. Tyler won the event by 4 seconds over Mike Miner.
2009 Winners!
Jess Trundy from Belgrade wins the 2009 Title - "Maine's Fittest Woman" with a combined time of 32:36. Ginny Brockway from Waterville (right) finished in second with 34:03 and Karen Wickman from Waterville modified her pullups and was the only other woman to complete all three events. Tyler Quirion of Fairfield claims the title for 2009 of "Maine's Fittest Man" with a combined time for all 3 events of 25:32. Chris Poirer (left) of Waterville finished second with a time of 29:16 and "Beau" Beaucage (right) of Topsham took third with a combined time of 32:45.1.
